When I began my life loving, life empowering and life loving journey I really had no idea that I would be presented with never ending opportunities to make money working from the comfort of my home.

If you’re looking for ways to make money from home you have come to the right place. It has been my dream to build my own home based business and now it has become one of my main goals to help stay at home moms become work at home moms!

I started my home based business 16 years ago. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning all the things that come along with being a home based business owner.

I’ve learned priceless lessons from my mistakes and I have grown from them. Most importantly I have been blessed to use my tools in such a way that has given me the opportunity to incorporate my own unique ideas into creating, designing and building a powerful work from home system that I believe is unique and exclusive to my own life and my gifts, skill set and great ability.

Being equipped with all the right tools to start a home based business and then to get a great return on my investments has been a life changing event for me. You can do the same easily but not necessarily quickly. I say this because you want to be sure you have all systems in place before starting your own work at home business doing what you love and know what you’re great at doing. When I started my home based business, Magic Fingers Typing Services, I discovered the art of design and from there I birthed Cyndi’s Light Work Designs. I love to write poetry so I took my poetry to help compliment some of my large collection of my unique masterpieces and now I sell them on my website. It was then that I became a full time entrepreneur.

I now write ebooks that uplift and encourage which for me is highly therapeutic because I always want to make sure that I’m constantly helping to change women’s lives.

If you want to work from home now is the time to start. This second is the future.

I started my work from home business typing dissertations, terms papers and resumes along with transcribing medical reports and parent interviews. There was a lot of money to be made and I decided that since I was an excellent typist, a typing business would be a good fit for me. Though my typing service business was short lived, it allowed me to supplement my husband’s salary.

My typing business was short lived because I went on to discover graphic design and fell in love. This quickly became my passion.

Now, what is it that you are passionate about that could help you to start your own home based business? Do you type? Perhaps you like to craft or maybe you can offer some kind of coaching service because you like to help people. Whatever it is that you like to do, I would suggest that you write it all down on paper and make a plan for yourself. The possibilities are endless and you could be on your way to making a steady income working part time, but making full time money. It all depends on what you want and choose to do.

Working at home in comfort is one of the greatest gifts I have ever given to myself.

What makes my businesses successful is being consistent and staying focused. I recently mapped out a new plan where on Mondays I write notes to myself and I write articles for my blogs. When Tuesday rolls around I post my articles on my websites for the week. By Wednesday I am promoting my businesses on the different social media platforms. On Thursdays, I am posting again to share all that I can to help my clients and customers to reach their goals. This is my passion and let me tell you when you’re passionate about something, abundance flows to you!

I would love to see you start your own work from home business. Why would you work for anyone else other than yourself. You have all of the necessary tools and resources available to you to ensure your success.

Working in the comfort of my office here in my quiet and peace-filled home, I am still excited, and oh, I can’t forget, grateful, for being a work a work at home mom; it really just doesn’t get any better than this. If I were working in corporate America making millions of dollars, I still could not compare it to working for myself. There is nothing like working at home in comfort using every skill, gift, talent and ability I’ve been given. I put my writing talent and my gift to design to real good use every single day of my life.

Working at home in comfort it I’m coming up with something new to incorporate into my businesses and this helps to keep my businesses thriving. There are so many amazing ideas that keep flowing into my mind that pertain to my businesses that whenever they pop into my mind, I immediately write them down and at that very moment another planning session is in place. There is so much inside of me when it comes to my businesses that I have found it necessary to keep a notepad right next to my bed. I always and I do mean always, write everything down so that I don’t forget one word that I already know is going to help me to keep my businesses thriving and prospering. Not only do I write down my thoughts for my own home based businesses, but I write down anything that I think may be of help to other work at home moms and dads or for others who are wanting to launch a new home based business venture.

Autumn Home Decor!

The Fall Season is here and I am through the roof excited.

Good Morning work-at-home moms. Today is, Friday, September 19, 2014; it is really chilly outside and I’m not complaining at all because this is my favorite time of year. My days are crazy busy and I love it. All my mornings are filled with peace and joy and I am embracing this wonderful season of warmth as I reflect upon God’s goodness in my life.

Today, I think back when I launched my home based typing business that quickly became an enormous success. I was typing every day and even transcribing. I went from creating my own wealth and not necessarily in terms of money, but in terms of being a highly successful owner of my very own work from business that has allowed me to work in the comfort of my home office, never having to worry about driving to an office to sit all day being instructed or being told what time I can take lunch and whose schedule I have to schedule my own vacation around and for how long I can take time off to spend my vacation days with my family.

I am grateful that I have blessed and gifted with some of the most awe-inspiring talents, skills and abilities in all the world and I am not alone. You, see, you too, mom, have some amazing gifts, but it’s how you choose to use your gifts that can change your life in a major way. Working for myself gives me real peace of mind and it allows me to incorporate all the things into my business that I have swirling in my head without anyone saying I can’t do this or I can’t do that. I don’t think it’s fair when someone tries to stunt your growth and for me, not being able to utilize all my gifts and talents is probably one of the worse things one can do in this life, though, not always intentional because you see when you work for someone else and depending on the position you’re in, your gifts may not match or may not be conducive to the job you may have been forced in or have to do. That’s something entirely different.

If you’re a stay-at-home mom, I already know that you possess some magnificent gifts and there is a way for you to put your gifts to great use. Your gifts may be just what someone else may need or could be looking for. It’s not always about making money. For me, it’s about helping people and sharing my gift of design with people. Sincerely wanting to see what I believe will be a blessing to them, to lift their spirits and to prayerfully transform their lives. I believe that all of my designs have the power to bring light into the lives of the hurting that need healing. I love to design. It is, indeed, my passion. It gives me a sense of peace. It embraces me with so much joy that I can’t begin to put it into words and even though business is very slow at the moment, I never ever stop designing and I never stop working to share my gifts with the world. I am fulfilling my dreams as a business owner. Working from home is one thing, but owning your own business is something altogether different.

If you’re still on the inside of your box and you want to create wealth for you and your family, why not become your own boss. Why not put to excellent use your gifts, talents, skills and abilities. You don’t want to waste what has been born in you because I know without a shadow of a doubt, that you have the ability to be a great business owner. You could be working from home building your empire and enjoying all the benefits that come from being your boss which means you get to work at home in comfort!

Today, I am going to enjoy the crispness in the cool breeze. I’m going to do some more decorating for the fall season. I’m going to blanket and clothe my home with all the fall decor that I envision in my mind. I’m going to layer my home with even more warmth with beautiful red and orange hues that can be seen in all my autumn decorations. I’m going to bake a batch of delicious mouth-watering brownies. I’m going to make my way to the market to do my food shopping for the week and then I’m going to come home and relax because I can. Being a business owner gives me the freedom along with the flexibility to do whatever I need to do for my family in my time. I love my life and I’ve even learned to really and truly love myself and all that I possess, my gifts, skills, talents and abilities for they are a part of me.

Today, I will give thanks to the Lord for blessing me with some many gifts, too many to list here I am sure.

“Individuals need to learn best work at home practices, like setting office hours, having a dedicated office space, avoiding home-bound distractions, and actually dressing as if you were going to an office,” she says. “This will help keep your mindset sharp and focused.”

I can vouch for that. I’m working from home today and it’s no easy feat. I woke up, got dressed, powered on my laptop, and got to work—but it’s sometimes difficult to stay focused with so many distractions and temptations around me. I only work from home under special circumstances—maybe five or six times a year—but some do it more frequently, and others work out of their homes permanently. It’s not for everyone, though, and some do it more successfully than others.

Accomplishing Your Goals On Your To Do List

Here at Moms in Slippers, it is my ultimate goal to help stay-at-home moms become successful work-at-home moms.

Starting a profitable and successful home based business is not hard. It just takes dedication and commitment to make your business great.

Your To Do List

I’ve always read many articles and I’ve heard other business owners say you have to see what the competition is doing and compare your product/service to theirs. This may be true for some, but I believe that if you have a product or service that provides or offers a need then your business will thrive. If you’re using your gifts, talents, awesome skills and amazing abilities along with your wisdom, knowledge and understanding then you’ll always be ahead, just simply and easily moving forward positioning yourself in a place you never even thought possible. Your daily to do list can help you to begin your journey and will serve as a compass for as long as you’re in business. Your to do list is essential to and for your business because it will ensure that you accomplish each task that is important to you while creating your business goals for growth.

When I started my work from home businesses, I was all over the place, just like a lot of women who have chosen to open the doors to their own businesses. I’ve made a lot of mistakes, the biggest mistake being not just sticking to one thing, but because I love to write and I have a deep passion for designing, I kept getting a ton of ideas in my head. It seemed I was starting a new business every few months. I then learned how to piece all my businesses together because they were all relevant to my main business, Cyndi’s Light Work Designs. I learned how to make my own websites and I designed all my own headers and buttons. For me, this wasn’t work, but a peace that I experienced whenever I was doing something to help grow my business. I even designed my own marketing materials. My audience loved everything I designed and they loved everything that I wrote that pertained to my business.

Being a business owner is exciting but only when you know what it is that you’re doing and when you know the direction that you want to take your business in.

When I started Cyndi’s Light Work Designs it was birthed from Angel On My Shoulder, Coloring Pages for Children. And then I began adding piece by piece to my design business. From the main branch of my tree, other branches have sprouted which have truly helped my business take on a whole new life that has given me a lot of pleasure and joys that I know for a fact could not have given me had I decided to continue to work in corporate America.

My time spent in corporate America has taught me a lot though and I am so highly grateful for all the lessons I’ve been able to apply to business. When I was promoted to program coordinator on my last job at the hospital, I knew very little about the computer, but once I was given the opportunity to learn new things, I taught myself every single thing that I needed to learn about Microsoft Word, so much so that it changed my life because I was able to take that knowledge and apply it to my business. I do believe that every business needs a computer and we all need to be computer savvy. From that point on, every single software program has come to me very easily; it’s almost like I designed the software myself. This is a gift I’ve been given and I use all my gifts confidently and I love it. I taught myself Photoshop and more.
